In the field of law like the other fields there are abundant career options. If you don’t want to get stuck in an office you can practice independently. Just make sure the profession you choose must be one that matches your temperament, interests and passions. 1) Public service lawyer take up the administrative roles in the larger interest of serving the public. You can also take up job with local NGOs and do legal public work, fight cases for the underprivileged or the poor. You can also take up administrative roles like that of a policy officer and a project manager. A guy with a big heart would just fit into this field. The money might be a little less compared to other sectors but there is a lot of personal satisfaction.
2) The legal issues are most common in business sector. In order to get a stabilized and continuous growth businesses to indulge in certain misconduct and hire lawyers in bulk to attend to the legal standards of the business and especially be able to meet the demands of the government to have to continuous growth. In corporate sectors and huge multi national companies have a huge demand for corporate lawyers and this profession will have a great lucrative value for a long time to come.

5) The lawyers can also find jobs in law enforcement agencies like the secret service, CIA and so on. They can enroll themselves with the police and any such law enforcing group who always need lawyers.

Public administration is the governance of public entities and it is carried out at various levels such as federal, state and local. The chief concern of administration is organization of government policies and programs in such a way that work activities in public offices are handled in the right manner for the benefits of the governing bodies as well as society as a whole. For many people not in the business of immigration law practice, the New York Immigrant Representation report, which was published in the Cardozo Law Review, is an eye-opener into the world of deportation proceedings. Some of the issues the report addresses are the impact of the transfer of detained immigrants to far off jurisdictions on the immigrants’ ability to hire immigration counsel, inadequate legal representation, high bond amounts, and a high number of self-represented non-citizens.
The number of foreign nationals representing themselves in immigration courts is appalling. (Unlike in criminal proceedings, non-citizens are not entitled to an appointed attorney in deportation proceedings.) According to the report, in New York City, 60 percent of detained immigrants and 27 percent of non-detained immigrants do not have the benefit of an immigration attorney’s expertise during the removal process.
The study only looks at removal, or deportation, cases that come before immigration judges. It does not address the number of individuals who seek immigration benefits from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services or Consular Offices abroad where an unsuccessful outcome can damage the person’s life as seriously as a removal from the country. Is inability to unite with one’s spouse in the United States less hurtful than separation with one’s spouse as a result of a deportation order? Nevertheless, more and more applicants handle immigration petitions on their own. The above study finds that, between 2000 and 2010, the number of unrepresented individuals has doubled.
Some foreign nationals dive into the maze of immigration law and procedure by themselves because they cannot afford hiring immigration lawyers; others chose to represent themselves because they believe they can handle it. The deceitfully simple immigration forms lure many pro se applicants into trouble. Some mistakes, including those involving strategy and presentation of evidence, may not be corrected.
We all know about the benefits of hiring professionals to deal with our problems, be it an electrician to repair a shorted wire, a medical doctor to treat a health issue, or an attorney to resolve a legal trouble. The New York study confirms the value of professional services: immigrants who were placed in deportation and who hired an immigration lawyer had successful outcome in 67 percent of cases; those who represented themselves were successful in only eight percent of cases. This data shows the importance of informing non-citizen applicants about the benefits of employing licensed professionals to assist them with immigration petitions.

Is the Law of Attraction a Law? To answer, let’s define the Law of Attraction. “I attract to my life whatever I give my attention, energy and focus to, whether positive or negative,” says Michael J. Losier in his book Law of Attraction, The Science of Attracting More of What You Want and Less of What You Don’t.
“We speak learnedly of the Law of Gravitation, but ignore that equally wonderful manifestation, The Law of Attraction in the Thought World,” William Walker Atkinson wrote in his 1908 treatise Thought Vibration or The Law of Attraction in the Thought World.
Atkinson saw Thought as “a Force – a manifestation of energy – having a magnet-like power of attraction,” and he claimed the reason life denies us what we desire is “we close our eyes to the mighty law that draws to us the things we desire or fear, that makes or mar our lives.”
If we fall in love with whatever it is we desire to attain, if it becomes our ruling passion or desire, then the Law of Attraction, Atkinson believed, kicks in.
The Law, he assured his readers, will draw negative events to us if we’re always negative and the things we desire if we maintain a positive state of mind and do not waver from our intended purpose.
Some people, including talk show host Larry King, have doubts about the efficacy of The Law of Positive Attraction because, it seems to bypass those born into awful poverty and starvation who will, no matter how positive their thoughts, probably die without a chance to ever raise themselves out of the circumstances into which they were born.

Innovation at times can go very wrong but as often as not the problem lies in Project Management and not with innovation. As a bit of a departure from the Corporate side and over to Government, there are very real examples of innovation, but innovation gone wrong through either a poorly conceived Business Case or in the Implementation Plan execution.
Take the example of the Gun Registry in Canada as an innovative strategic initiative geared to improving public safety. Now, it may not represent an example of a corporate catastrophe, but a catastrophe nonetheless and some lessons learned. How about some data to start with?
Handgun registration has been a federal Law since 1934. About 1000 people die in Canada every year from gunshot wounds. 80% are suicides, 5% are accidents and 15% are homicides. Still, Gun Registry represented an important Federal Government initiative for the Liberal Party.
Canadian taxpayers, for the past 14 years have paid over $2+ Billion to fund the failure of the Gun Registry Project with no improvement to public safety whatsoever. In the corporate sector there would have been Project Management Methodology to usher the Gun registry through to a successful conclusion and make key course corrections at each critical juncture with an ongoing focus on execution and cost containment benchmarks. Would it have been a far more cost effective project to exclude the long guns – rifles and shotguns? Absolutely.
Is that type of modification possible in the Canadian Parliamentary system? No, not with a minority government and not with a four party system in Canada that will forever prevent the possibility of majority government that has the power to make the changes required to a Bill passed by a party that is no longer in power. Although let’s also agree it represented both a poor Political decision as well as a classic example of project mismanagement.
How about another Government project gone wrong in Canada – this time in Ontario. In 2002 the Ontario Government decided to convert Ontario residents’ health records to electronic format. In a world where the electronic formatting of data is commonplace one would suspect that there would be very little downside risk to the project. Right? Unfortunately, innovation once again gone wrong. In an excerpt from an April 3, 2009 Toronto Star article, the plan has been abandoned at a reported waste of $642 Million in Ontario taxpayer money. The idea or concept of Ontario Health care records in electronic format was well founded; the execution or project implementation was abysmal.
These are two examples of severe project mismanagement at a total cost to taxpayers of $2.642 Billion at the time of a deep world recession when capital in all its forms is in extremely short supply.
In both Government and the Corporate sector there are some very simple rules to follow that would help ‘Recession Proof’ a business. The following is a simple set of rules that apply specifically to Information Technology (IT) Systems that are being considered for your organization.
o In the evaluation of a new IT system, never rely on a demonstration disc (demo disc) as the sole basis for the system selection.
o Never be the first organization to implement the newly developed system – far better to be at least the second organization or even third. User testimonials are a critical success factor and invaluable project research.
o Red Flag: any portion of the system functionality that is still ‘under development’ probably means your organization will become both the development and the test site.
o Go and see the system at a live site where it is actually operation.
o Be sure to discuss with any of the existing users the differences between their IT application and the application planned for your organization. Document and quantify the differences. They may be a deal breaker.
o Be sure your IT Project Manager is experienced in Project Management of the type and scope planned for your organization. Make the IT Project their full time responsibility.
o Within the IT implementation plan be sure to ‘Chunk It’ or break the project into manageable pieces with selected ‘check points’ for Senior Management and ‘go-no go’ provisions.
Research and Project Management is not the exclusive domain of the IT world – they obviously apply across all aspects of corporate endeavor.
The current recession is worldwide. It affects business and business decisions on an international, national, regional and local scale. It has often been argued however, that in recessionary times opportunities are at their zenith. Why? Some of the competition will fail; many will cut back or retrench. Almost all will become internalized and focused on the ‘now’ business.
The best advice is: don’t make any mistakes, none. Eliminate the words ‘I think’ and ‘I hope’ from the decision making process. Those words have unfortunately been followed some time later by ‘it seemed like a good idea at the time. Sound familiar?
Follow sound business process management guidelines in project or product research. The disciplines of Strategic Planning, Business Case Methodology, Product Development and Project Management templates are essential. It can be an exciting time and a great ride.
